A traditional bullfighting arena, the Roquetas de Mar Plaza de Toros is a spectacular preview into ancient and modern Spanish culture. It has now doubled as an international concert venue. Plaza de Toros was completed in year 2003.
Las Marinas, 4 kms south of Roquetas, have resplendent salt lagoons. Las Marinas is a good vantage point to watch the magnificent flamingos, little egrets, avocets, and other water birds in just about every season. This is surely a welcome escape from the packed beaches, the salt marsh at Las Marinas. Meanwhile at Punto Sabinas, bird watchers could afford to sight crested larks or a great grey shrike.
