Though tritely regarded by local women as where they wash clothes with their feet submerged in the water, La Fuente (Fountain) has worth more than that. This is an extremely antiquated structure whose natural spring water’s fount is said to have flowed from here ever since the Roman times. The fountain was restored in 1876.

The Plaza Nueva is an attractive place, what with its resplendent panoramic views of the neighboring countryside. It also contains the Hermitage de los Dolores, now serving as a shop.

The Parish Church de Santa María could be mistaken for a fortress. The church has a single vaulted nave. It began construction in 1560.

The ancient Castillo which towers over the village is now an open viewing platform.

Casa del Torrein, the old customs house.

Puerta de la Ciudad (City Gate), is a semi-circular arch depicting the arms of the town. The City Gate originally was the site of the main entrance to the village ever since Moorish times.

Part and parcel of the rich artistic legacy bequeathed to the town, are the Renaissance church of Santa María, dating back from the 16th to 19th centuries, as well as the castle of Mojácar, from the 15th century.
